Information about this website in English

The idea for this website originated while walking through the “Vrijheidsbos”*.

In the project plan “Bastions ontsloten’’** it was decided to make the “Vrijheidsbos” part of the walk starting at the ‘’Brielse Wallen’’. During this walk, information about the history of Brielle from the “Eighty Years War” to the present is provided via an app. The “Vrijheidsbos” is meant to commemorate War and Peace and other important personal events.

The trees in the forest are purchased by institutions and companies but especially by people who were looking for a place to commemorate a birth, a jubilee, a friendship or the death of a loved one.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could share these commemorations with others through photos, stories, poems or even through a short film? An app could be the answer. Tree owners can show their reason for buying a tree by means of a QR-code or online at home.

We are very pleased to say that we managed to get the website subsidised by the following organisations: The Brielle council, The Deltafonds and contributions of the foundation “Vrijheidsbos”. Josef Willems Webdesign is the designer of this website.

The “Vrijheidsbos” being already unique as it is, becomes even more unique by adding this website.

If you want to participate by bringing your tree to the attention you can send an email to: secretariat@vrijheidsbosbrielle.nl.

You will then receive all the necessary information.

On behalf of the board, I wish you inspiring walks.

Rein Groen,
Chairman foundation “Vrijheidsbos”
